DEBRE DAMO MONASTERY

OROMO.
The largest ethnic group in Ethiopia, is divided into four groups. The Wallage, most Protestants who occupy the western part of the Oromo nation. The Tulameen, North Oromo occupy Shoa zone, joining the Ethiopian Orthodox Christian church. The Arsi and Borana Oromo in the south, Muslims and animists with a semi-nomadic lifestyle. Finally, the Harage, living in Dawa and Harar and surrounding rural populations are predominantly Muslim.

TIGRINYA.
They live in the mountainous regions of south-central Eritrea and northern Ethiopia, Tigray province. Tigrinya language is a descendant of the ancient Semitic language called Ge'ez, the language currently used by the Coptic Church, although they use for writing the alphabet amhárico. According to their traditions, descended from the ancient kingdom of Sheba, ruled by Menelik I, son of the Hebrew king Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.

JUMPING BULL CEREMONY
The bull jumping ceremony is performed by various tribes of the lower Omo Valley. It is the most important ceremony in the life of a tribal man. Each teen, naked part is subjected to a series of rituals before jumping on the line of bulls. If successful, they are men in the eyes of the tribe.
