VISA

The visa is done in the Addis Ababa airport (cost $ 50), a passport valid for at least 6 months. View formalities necessary for other than Spanish nationality.

THE WEATHER

In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.

HISTORICAL ETHIOPIA AND DJIBOUTI (24 DAYS 23 NIGHTS)

DAY 1:

Arrival in Addis Ababa. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 2:

Transfer by road to the monastery of Debre Libanos visiting the Blue Nile Gorge. Accommodation in the hotel at Debre Markos.

DAY 3:

Drive to Bahar Dar. In the afternoon, we will make a tour of the city. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 4:

In the morning we will go to Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat) and afternoon boat ride on Lake Tana to visit some of the monasteries that are hiding on their islands. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 5:

Follow the road to Gondar. Visit the castles and churches built in the seventeenth century. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 6:

We will continue to Axum by crossing part of Semain mountains National Park. Overnigth in hotel.

DAY 7:

We will be spending full day at Axum, which will allocate us a tour around the town. Overnight, in hotel.

DAY 8:

Our journey will be continuing to Adigrat. During the journey,we will be able to visit the temple of Yeha and the monastery of Debra-Damo. Overnight, hotel.

DAY 9:

We will be transfered to Mekale, where we can visit the churches of Tigray, all carved in the rock (unique) and the mosque of Negashi (seventh century). Accommodation,hotel.

DAY 10:

Full day trip to Lalibela. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 11:

Day destined to visit the two groups of churches carved into the rockof the Orthodox holy city of Lalibela. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 12:

This day undertake a travel to Kombolcha, and during the trip, visit the monastery of Hayik Estefanos a semi-monolithic church of Genet Mariyam. Overnight, hotel.

DAY 13:

This day, we will visit the colorful market of Bati, on the way to Asayta. And we will also cross the Danakil depression and present the tribe of Afar. Accommodation, hotel.

DAY 14:

We will continue to Abe, and will visit the market Asayta. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 15:

Very early we leave towards Djibouti. Accommodation in camping on the shores of Lake Easal, which enables us to enjoy the magnificent views of the lake.

DAY 16:

We approach Tadjoura to relax on its beaches. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 17:

Crossing the Red Sea by boat, with the possibility of diving, (essential NAVY or PADI certificate) or snorkling and enjoy the different species of fish and aquatic animals that abound in that sea. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 18:

We will continue our journey to Lake Abe. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 19:

Back to Ethiopian land, drive to Dire Dawa. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 20:

Continue to Harar to visit the old part of the town, and which is the fourth holy city of Muslim. Go into a typical house of Adare people and in the evening we will know the man hyena. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 21:

We will continue to Awash National Park, to dazzle with the Awash River waterfalls, and all the fauna and diversity of birds that reside in the park. Overnight in camp or hotel.

DAY 22:

We will visit the hot springs and the Palm Side, and the Kereyu people. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 23:

Travel back to Addis Ababa via Lake Methehara and Nazareth. Accommodation in hotel.

A trip through Ethiopia that combines northern Ethiopia to the south. Traveling north, let us know the history of this country. A route designed with the objective of knowing the most important places in the region, where the majority is Orthodox worship. Most of the people are ethnic Amhara.

Cities like Bahar to the shores of Lake Tana, where we will visit its churches nestled in small islets located within the lake or Tissisat Falls, Blue Nile sources.

The town of Gondar with all its medieval buildings, castles, fortresses, declared World Heritage.

Lalibela highlight of the trip with its troglodyte churches excavated in the rock that form a unique and incomparable monument. We may know the rhythm of life of the monks who watch over the well kept relics that exist there.

The southern region is the most intense part ethnically speaking, where we can mixing with the tribes of the Mursis, Hamer, Karo, Dassanech, Ari, Arbore, etc.

This part of the trip is an unforgettable experience, a trip that will take us to the time of the legendary Queen of Sheba, and an ancestral Africa in the twenty-first century.
