VISA

The visa is done in the Addis Ababa airport (cost $ 50), a passport valid for at least 6 months. View formalities necessary for other than Spanish nationality.

THE WEATHER

In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.

SOUTH and NORTH (22 DAYS 21 NIGHTS)

DAY 1:

Arrival in Addis Ababa and city tour. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 2:

Transfer to Arbaminch through rift valley lakes region and by crossing the people of Wolayta. Night in hotel Arbaminch.

DAY 3:

In the morning we approach Chencha to meet the tribe of the Dorze. In the afternoon we will take a boat ride on Lake Chamo. night at hotel Arbaminch.

DAY 4:

Drive to Jinka, by passing through and admiring the tribes of konso, Ari, Benna and Tsemay.. Overnight in camp or hotel in the town of Jinka.

DAY 5:

We visit the Mursi Tribe and one of their villages. Night

Camping in the Mago National Park.

DAY 6:

We enter the region of the Karo tribe and visit their villages of Korcho and Duss, with magnificent views over the River Omo. Night in camp in Murulle or Duss.

DAY 7:

Move towards the region of the Tribe of the Hammer, and overnight at Buska Lodge.

DAY 8:

Full Day Turmi and villages around it. We attend one of their ceremonies and markets. Hopefully we can attend a marriage ceremony or attend their games and tribal dances. Night at Turmi, Buska Lodge.

DAY 9:

We will honor Omorate, a town on the banks of the Omo River to visit Dassanech tribes and their villages. Back to Turmi to sleep.

DAY 10:

We will continue our tour of the Omo River Valley towns across Tsemay and Erbore up to Konso. Night at Konso in Kanta Lodge.

DAY 11:

We enter the region of the Borana and afternoon visit the Crater Elsod (where Borana men extract salt for their cattle), and know the Borana villages. Overnight Yabelo motel.

DAY 12:

Cross the region of the People of the Guji, enjoying beautiful views of Lagos, the Riff and Awassa. Pina Night at the hotel.

DAY 13:

Morning visit the fish market and then go back to Addis Ababa, during the journey admiring the Rift Valley lakes such as Abyata-Shala and Langano. In the afternoon if it is free, we will have an excursion (optional). Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 14:

Follow the road that leads north to Kombolcha, admiring the people of Oromo and Amara. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 15:

On arrival at Lalibela, in the afternoon we will visit one of the churches found out of the main rock hewn churches. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 16:

Full day we spend visiting the 11 churches of Lalibela, all carved in the rock. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 17:

Fly to Axum. Afternoon city tour of visiting historic churches, obelisks and archaeological sites. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 18:

Drive to Gondar, crossing the spectacular mountains of part of the Simien Mountains National Park. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 19:

In the morning, tour by Gondar, visiting castles, churches and palaces of the former emperor Fasilidas. In the afternoon we will transfer to Bahar Dar. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 20:

In the morning we will approach the waterfalls of the Blue Nile (Tisissat). Afternoon, boat trip on Lake Tana to admire and visit two of the monasteries that hide its Islands: Ura Kidane Mehret and Giorgis Zeghie Mehal. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 21:

Fly back to Addis Ababa. Afternoon, free and optional to have time for shopping of souvenirs and gifts, accommodation hotel.

A trip through Ethiopia that combines northern Ethiopia to the south. Traveling north, let us know the history of this country. A route designed with the objective of knowing the most important places in the region, where the majority is Orthodox worship. Most of the people are ethnic Amhara.

Cities like Bahar to the shores of Lake Tana, where we will visit its churches nestled in small islets located within the lake or Tissisat Falls, Blue Nile sources.

The town of Gondar with all its medieval buildings, castles, fortresses, declared World Heritage.

Lalibela highlight of the trip with its troglodyte churches excavated in the rock that form a unique and incomparable monument. We may know the rhythm of life of the monks who watch over the well kept relics that exist there.

The southern region is the most intense part ethnically speaking, where we can mixing with the tribes of the Mursis, Hamer, Karo, Dassanech, Ari, Arbore, etc.

This part of the trip is an unforgettable experience, a trip that will take us to the time of the legendary Queen of Sheba, and an ancestral Africa in the twenty-first century.
