VISA

The visa is done in the Addis Ababa airport (cost $ 50), a passport valid for at least 6 months. View formalities necessary for other than Spanish nationality.

THE WEATHER

In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.

DAY 1:

Arrival in Addis Ababa.

DAY 2:

Drive to Kombolcha with possibility to visit the market Sembete

DAY 3:

Drive to Woldia with possibility to visit the Bati market and the monastery of Hayk Estefanos).

DAY 4:

Transfer by car and visit Lalibela.

DAY 5:

Visit the Churches of Lalibela and its surroundings.

DAY 6:

Drive to Mekele through Sekota or Woldya.

DAY 7:

Visit the churches of Tigray, as Abraha WoAsbiha, Dugum Silassie and Wukro Cherkos. Overnight in hotel of Mekele.

Day designed to explore by boat on Lake Tana. For 2-3 hours, visit Urakedane Mehret, Zeghie Mahal, Asua Mariam Gyorgis, Narga Selassie. Night at Bahar Dar.

In the morning, we will visit the water falls of Blue Nile and in the afternoon will drive to Debra Markos.

Visit the Blue Nile gorge, and the monastery of Debre Libanos. Night at Addis

A trip for northern Ethiopia. Traveling north, let us know the history of this country. A route designed with the objective of knowing the most important places in the region, where the majority is Orthodox religion.

Most of the people are ethnic Amhara. Cities like Bahar Dar, shores of Lake Tana, where we will visit its churches latched in small islets in the lake, or the famous waterfalls of Tissisat, Blue Nile source. The town of Gondar receives us with all its medieval buildings, castles, fortresses, declared patrimony of humanity. Lalibela highlight of the trip with its troglodyte churches excavated in the rock that form a unique and incomparable monument. We may know the rhythm of life of the monks who watch over the well kept relics that exist there.
