DANAKIL DEPRESSION AND ITS LAKES, AWASH

NATIONAL PARK, HARAR (18 DAYS 17 NIGHTS)

These routes to the east and southeast allow us to contact the culture of different Tribes and Ethnic Groups in Eastern Ethiopia and admire the natural beauty of the Rift Valley with its beautiful lakes. Ziway Lake, Lake Abiyata, Lake Shala, Lake Langano, Lake Awassa, Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya, on whose shores is Nech Sar National Park.

During the tour, visit important historical cities such as Harar, the fourth Muslim sacred city (together with Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem) and known for its walls, which were built in the fifteenth century by Harari (Adare Tribe) to be protected from the repeated invasions of other tribes around.

We will go in the Danakil desert, the warmest part of the world, land of black mountains and salt formations, such as the Dallol, we move accompanied by the slow rhythm of the camel caravans loaded with salt. We may also know, churches, carved into the rock of Tigray.

DANAKIL DEPRESSION AND ITS LAKES, AWASH NATIONAL PARK, HARA

DAY 1:

Arrival at Addis Ababa and city tour. Night in hotel.

DAY 2:

Transfer by vehicle to the Awash National Park. Night in camp.

DAY 3:

Full day in the park. Visit "Paim Spring '(hot springs) and climb to the top of the volcano Fantale (inactive since 1820). Overnight camp.

DAY 4:

Transfer to Asaita. Visit the tribe of Afar. Night in local hotel.

DAY 5:

Transfer to Lake Abe. Overnight in Asaita hotel.

DAY 6:

We will continue our tour and visit Asaita - Serdar - Lake Afdiera and its environs, where archaeological activity takes place. Night in camp.

DAY 7:

Trekking around the lake. Night in camp.

DAY 8:

Transfer to Lake Afdiera. Night in camp.

DAY 9:

Transfer Asaita - Awash. Night in local hotel.

DAY 10:

Continue to explore the Awash Park, its hot springs, waterfalls, and more. Night in local hotel.

DAY 11:

Drive to Harar. Night in Hotel.

DAY 12:

Babile visit. Night in hotel.

DAY 13:

Drive to Harar - Nazareth. Night in hotel.

DAY 14:

Transfer Nazareth - Bale Gola through Wabshabel. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 15:

We will spend full day in the Bale mountains national park,visit the Senate plateau, the forest and will reach untill the top of Mount Tulu Dimtu.

DAY 16:

Transfer Goba - Kofel - Wondo Genet. Night in hotel.

DAY 17:

We will continue our journey back to Addis Ababa through the Lakes of Rif valley region,

visiting Abiyata and Shalla Lakes. Night in hotel.

In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.
