A trip for northern Ethiopia. Traveling north, let us know the history of this country. A route designed with the objective of knowing the most important places in the region, where the majority is Orthodox religion.
Most of the people are ethnic Amhara. Cities like Bahar Dar, shores of Lake Tana, where we will visit its churches latched in small islets in the lake, or the famous waterfalls of Tissisat, Blue Nile source. The town of Gondar receives us with all its medieval buildings, castles, fortresses, declared patrimony of humanity. Lalibela highlight of the trip with its troglodyte churches excavated in the rock that form a unique and incomparable monument. We may know the rhythm of life of the monks who watch over the well kept relics that exist there.

DAY 1:
On arrival in Addis Ababa there will be a city tour.
DAY 2:
This day we will be transfered to the Monastery of Debra Libanos and the Blue Nile gorges, overnight stay, Debra markos, hotel
DAY 3:
Drive to Bahir Dar and on arrival we will visit the water falls of Blue Nile. In the afternoon there will be a city tour.
DAY 4:
This day we will spend the whole day in the ice-lands of lake Tana and will visit the Monasteries that are hidden in the lake.
DAY 5:
Transfer to Gondar and visit the castles and churches.
DAY 6:
We will be transfered to Axum through Samein Mountains national Park. Overnight stay Axum Hotel.
DAY 7:
Full day at Axum, and tour of the city.
DAY 8:
Drive to Adigrat, en route visit the temple of Yeha and the Monastery of Debra Damo. Overnight stay Adigrat hotel.
DAY 9:
Drive to Mekele, en route visit the churches of Tigray which carved of rock (2-3 unique) and Negashi Mosque.
DAY 10:
This full day will be covered by transferring to Lalibela.
DAY 11:
We will spend this full day at Lalibela which will enables us to cover the 2 groups of 11 monolithic and semi-monolithic churches which are carved out of the rock.
DAY 12:
Drive to Kombolcha, en route visit to the monastery of Hayk Estefanos and semi-monolithic churches of Mariam Genete.
DAY 13:
Transfer to the village of Bati, where we will have possibility to visit the local market where all the tribes of Oromo, Afar and Amhara attend regularly, and proceed to Awash national Park through the middle of Denakil Depression.
DAY 14:
Full day in Awash National Park, to watch the wildlife and the great variety of birds that live.
DAY 15:
Drive to Harar.
DAY 16:
In the morning, we will visit the wild life sanctuary of Babile and in the afternoon, we will continue to the walled city of Harer. During the night, we will witness the practice of hayena -man feeding.
DAY 17:
Drive to Dire Dawa and connect domestic flight to Addis Ababa. Overnight Addis Ababa hotel.
DAY 18:
Departure.

In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.
