A trip for northern Ethiopia. Traveling north, let us know the history of this country. A route designed with the objective of knowing the most important places in the region, where the majority is Orthodox religion.
Most of the people are ethnic Amhara. Cities like Bahar Dar, shores of Lake Tana, where we will visit its churches latched in small islets in the lake, or the famous waterfalls of Tissisat, Blue Nile source. The town of Gondar receives us with all its medieval buildings, castles, fortresses, declared patrimony of humanity. Lalibela highlight of the trip with its troglodyte churches excavated in the rock that form a unique and incomparable monument. We may know the rhythm of life of the monks who watch over the well kept relics that exist there.

HISTORIC ROUTE BY LAND AND AIR
DAY 1:
Arrival in Addis Ababa and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour including Entoto Mountains, from where it provides a heady view of the city, and the Church of St. Mary, with its adjoining museum, which set out various objects from the imperial era. Visit the National Museum and several historic monuments.
DAY 2:
Fly to Bahir Dar and transfer to hotel, and then the tour starts in the Lake Tana taking boat to the beautiful monasteries hidden by the islands and we will spend 3 to 4 hours.
DAY 3:
In the morning drive to the Blue Nile falls or Tis Issat (the smoke of water falls) and in the late afternoon transfer to Gonder .
DAY 4:
This day is destined to visit the castles of Emperor Fasilidas and his successors, the bath of King Fasil,the palace of Empress Mentewab and the Church of Debra Birhan Silassie(the light of trinity).
DAY 5:
Drive to Axum, (the origin of civilization of Ethiopia, dates back over 3000 years), through the spectacular views of the Semein Mountains and by admiring its features and natural beauty of it's vegetations.
DAY 6:
Full day will be covered by visiting the monolithic stalea and several archaeological sites such as the baths and palace of Queen of Sheba, the tombs of kings and numerous churches among which the church of St. Tsiyon Mary where the Ark of the covenant with ten commandments from Israel by king of Menelik first.
DAY 7:
Fly to Lalibela, defined as the 8th wonder of the world, and on arrival visit the monolithic and semi-monolithic churches of Lalibela of 11th century.
DAY 8:
This we propose an excursion of the churches found out of the main groups and we use mules to Asheton Maryam and Nekute Le'ab which is carved out of rock.
DAY 9:
Fly to Addis Ababa, in the afternoon visit the market of 'MERKATO' the largest open air market in Africa, with all sorts of trinkets and souvenir shops.

Departure.

THE WEATHER
In northern Ethiopia the rainy season is from June to late August. In the south the rainy season is April and May. Due to climate change, the data provided may vary depending on the year.
